Defeating Shang tsung with less damage from him
ok if you're playing 1 player you can deal damage to him from a far distance, using kung lao's hat throw and liu kang's fireballs, make sure they're both upgraded for better damage specially the fireball. the battle style shang tsung has is Shifting from somebody and then returning back. so you might want to get a distance. to prevent damage from him you don't use your shield, sometimes shang tsung's fireball thingy removes your shield, so the other way around is to simply keep canceling him. how?
Kung Lao:
~kung lao has a charge attack (circle button) it enables him to deal strong attack and knocking shang tsung off the ground. doing so if you throw your hat at a distance he will be KO then simply run at him and then press circle. just make sure your aiming for his body. if his body slams on the boundary your lucky, press R1+Triangle so that kung lao can cycle with his hat throwing him upwards in the air, now, you can still deal air damage to him by jumping then pressing triangle again to flip him up but it's going to be risky since he can counter.
Flaw:
~if you abused him being knocked out in the air he can counter you, or if you wanted to punch him too much he can grab you. either sucking your HP or killing you instead.
Liu Kang:
~he doesn't have a charge attack but his fireballs does deal a larger damage than the hat thing. if you haven't upgrade it then this is the time. the same as kung lao go to a distance and then fire 2 balls at him, if you want three get a little closer to him. then once his KO get near to him and UPPERCUT or R1+Triangle, (if it doesn't work then wait for him to get up) if he flew up high jump and simply air combo him.
Flaw:
~unlike kung lao his tricks deal less damage but also leaves much HP since you can escape his counters but liu kang's combo is much for complicated to let go off that you still need to finish the whole combo before you can move away.. at that time you can get countered by that way so you have to keep a steady combo at him if you want to just jump and circle or X+O (ex + circle) so that he'll throw him down then move away <img src="http://i.neoseeker.com/d/icons/smile.gif" border=0 vspace=2 alt="" />
if ever he's transforming don't get near him or don't waste your MP shooting him it DOES NO DAMAGE. don't worry if he's somebody else you should still do the same tips as before but this time you can make a basic combo at him, but still. be careful.. they counter much more harder if you abused it too much <img src="http://i.neoseeker.com/d/icons/smile.gif" border=0 vspace=2 alt="" />

Easiest way to beat Kintaro and Kahn with Kung Lao
I figured Shang Tsung wasn't a challange so I decided to post a tip of harder guys to beat like these 2. Okay when playing as Kung Lao (easier to play with than Liu Kang IMO) do the jump (x) and square move where he does repeated kicks. Keep doing them successfully and on both guys (Kahn is gonna be tricky so watch out for some of his hammer moves and stuff). However if you get tired of doing that move all the time do Lao's hat projectile at sometimes which does some decent damage.

Easiest way to beat Kintaro with Liu Kang
If you are having trouble beating Kintaro I suggest you do the run and launch (triangle) move where Liu Kang rolls into a cannonball. Keep doing it to him until he is down and out. Be careful of some of his moves though. Don't get too happy with that move. Just use it on some occasions like after he does him huge air stomps and fireball.

Easy way to kill Inferno Scorpion
An easy way to kill Inferno Scorpion is too keep using projectiles like Kang's fireballs or Lao's hat. Keep using their projectiles repeatedly until he is out. If you do it right you would win flawless victory.

In the dungeon area before Shao Khan's throne, you encounter Johnny Cage and Kitana in their cells (a save stone is nearby). Opt to speak to Kitana three times and an encounter with Kano will ensue.

Fight Mileena
You need the climb and swing ability to do this, go to the living forest. in the first area, near the save poin, there are two branches near the temple like thing. Grab the first one and jump to the second and jump towards the temple. You will then grab a tree coming out of it and climb up. You will then be in a new area thats just a jaged path with putrid corpses and masked guards. at the end youll come to an area with a purple portal. You'll fight Millena and two masked guards.

How to save as much life as possible when fighting Reptile (part 1)
Reptile is fairly easy to defeat on part 1. He does this process by fighting normally, and then telaports to the top of the area, and shoots energy blasts at you. To avoid not getting touched. Quickly run to the very top corner of where he is, and stand still. He will completly miss you. And then you will have saved enough health to beat him easily in the next part!

Impaling Baraka
I noticed some people are having trouble understanding how to impale Baraka. Right after you do and win the test your might impale Baraka by pressing R2 (while aiming at him by L2) with the soul sword. After you have nailed him with first sword do it with the other and repeat the process and then nail him with the fatality shown after he is impaled by both of the soul swords.

The simple killing of Shao Kahn is simple. First if you are Kung Lao throw your hat at his mother cracking face durr. Then find that tiger guy's head pick it up. After this involentary weapon is simply picked up you must press circle to have the head hurt that freak Shao Kaun. Continue doing this until he pulls that big ol' frickin' hammer out of his pocket. Then you start pressing x and square to hit him. Then you shall see that the photosynthesis in his frickin' body will rust into a damnation of hell. this work's for VS and on Campaign either 2 players or 1
- ok so here's the deal. most enemies shield up to defend their selves, and you can get countered while you are open. so the trick here is to wait until he is under BLOCK mode within 3~5 seconds (block modes means he is always blocking even if you're far away) and move to him IMMEDIATELY then use the Grab button or R2, this way your character will grab him and send him flying or doing some specials at your enemy. if you think the character is not grabbing the opponent or there's a conflict simply try it 2 ~ 3 times and if you see it happening don't let off make a combo so that you can damage him in the open <img src="http://i.neoseeker.com/d/icons/smile.gif" border=0 vspace=2 alt="" />

The Easiest Way To Beat Kahn With Kung Lao
At the beginning of the fight start with as much life as possible. Hit Kahn with a lot of quick attacks and be careful for his green orb attack. When he taks out the hammer stay as far away as possible. when there is enough space between u and him throught your hat or kintaros head but be fast. Wen he starts swinging in crircles with the hammer stay at the edge of teh ring and run around the ring and if he gets to close long jump. After he stops swinging he pauses thats your time to attack. repeat this and you should be able to beat him

- Located: Near the Platform Jumping area near the beginning of that level.
There is a Pillar to the right side. Grab a Soldier and throw it into the pillar.
After:Then backtrack to the level before and look by the waterfall area.
Fight Scorpion In Game
- Located: Foundry Run to the area where the 2 demon archers comes out. Grab & throw one them at the left wall by the Door that leads
to the next area.
After: Grab the other archer and throw him into the lava. Use the body on the lava to
get to the ledge.
Fight Sub-Zero In Game
- Located: WasteLand The Wasteland portal is located on the top right of the area that leads to the Foundry level.
After: Fight Sub-zero. After the battle, jump on the boat with Sub-zero and Fight the skeletons until you reach the other dock area. Before you open the door, go to the left and jump up onto the statue.
Fight Baraka Soul Tomb In Game
- Located: In the room near the helldemon that had 2 levels, the upper door has a railing.
After: The dragon is on the other side of the railing. You have to jump around the opposite way to get the dragon since you cant jump over the railing
Fight Kitana In Game
- Located: The room where you obtain the Mutality move (There is 1 Priest floating in the background)
After: Before you go up to reach "Kitana, Mileena & Jade Fight" you will see the Red Portal on the right side of the room. Jump on the pillars next to the steps to access the roof area to get the red koin on the roof

Smoke & Missions
Locating Smoke:
Smoke is located in the Living Forest. There is an area with a river running through it. Jump across the first section of the river tol find a living tree and 4 clay statues in front of a stone structure. You must throw one of the clay guardians into the wall to break it.
This will open Smoke's area.
Smoke Mission 1:
Go to the Soul Tombs. Now go through the door with the green mark above it.
You will have to fight Tarkatas.
Throw them into the back wall until you reveal a full fatality code made of stone.
Smoke mission #1 is complete.
The best way to throw them the Tarkata is to run at them and grapple with black, then hold the analog stick in the direction you want to throw. This keeps them flying low so they are less likely to be impaled on the roof.
Now return to Smoke.
Smoke Mission 2:
You must find the Warriors Arena. Backtrack to the first area when you started this stage. A bridge was destryed the first time you were here. To the left of that bridge is a ledge to jump to. Follow that path until you see statues that require the fist of ruin to break them. Break them and move to the next area.
Smoke mission #2 is complete.
Return to Smoke.
Smoke Mission 3:
Go to the soul tombs. You will see a cutscene showing a new room. Go into that room. Do not kill ANY of the Tarkata! You need all three to sacrifice.
Throw 3 Tarkatas in 3 different torture devices.
Smoke mission 3 is complete.
Return to Smoke
Smoke Mission 4:
Go back to the portal area by the Evil Monestary. Throw a guard into the purple portal located there.
Now go down the ramp to the area below the wall that leads to the soul tombs. Throw another guard into the purple portal.
Smoke mission 4 is complete.
Return to Smoke.
Smoke Mission 5:
Smoke will open a portal. Enter the portal.. You will now have to battle enemies on top of the Pit 2 stage.
Once completed, go back through the portal and talk to smoke to unlock Mortal Kombat 2 from the Kontent menu

Unlock Baraka
In the soul tomb portal, got to the area where you have to wall climb. You will see 2 paths. One leads left, the other right. The right path has a statue. Use fist of ruin and break it. Keep going and use the long jump ability across the gap and you will get him.

Unlock Johnny Cage
In the wu-shi academy where everything is burning. Go to the very right of the gate and jump onto the roof of the house. Run to the right and jump. If you did it correctly, you will be on a new platform with a boulder blocking your way.

In the MK2 arena level (right before the portal with the two statues in front of it) in the evil monastery, You will see many pillars. Jump on one of them which is half broken and then double jump onto the roof. You will find the secret there.

Unlock Reptile
Living Forest. Go to the section after the Brotherhood Of Shadow. Long Jump across the gap with the tiny waterfall. Go through the door. Now, get the Clay Statues to come to life. Destroy their shield. You only need 1 of them. Now, get one of them over near the Giant Stone Cloumn on the other side of the stream. It's the stone column right near where you entered. Throw the Clay Statue into it! It should come crashing down. Now, return to where the little waterfall was. There is no longer a waterfall. Just a Koin that contains Reptile.

Unlock Scorpion
In foundry follow the pathway downstairs to the left of the save station. Two archers will bust through the wall. Throw one at the wall to the left of the door way and it will bust open revealing a secret room full of lava and a ying yang on a ledge. Grab one of the archers and throw them in the lava. Then double jump off the guards back to claim the Scorpion ying yang for VS.

Unlock Sub-Zero
After taking the boat ride across blood lake, his VS. icon is in back of the lion looking statue to your left (facing the big door), just run along the wall and when you get to the end double jump and its yours.

Weaknesses
Goros- Goros are slow and can be easily dodged. But when they charge at you they are sort of deadly. The best thing to do is (with Kao Lung) throw your hat and do aerial combos. (with Liu Kang) Liu Kang is a very fast fighter so you shouldn't have a problem. Beware:Goros are strong in groups.
Goro Master Baraka- Baraka is THE slowest character I have seen yet, but he can pack a punch. He usually follows you while his minion Goros do his work for him. He has what looks to be a giant stone pollar with a handle. But he is easy to dogde so you shouldn't have a problem with either character.
Master Guards- The MG's are very fast and love to guard. I usually do a sliding kick under them. After that they are wide open but not for long. They will jump back up to their feet very fast so attack quickly.(Note: Do not use Kang Lao's hat throw it doesn't work on MG's they just block it.)
Takara Tribesmen- They Takara focus on speed and long range attacks. So try and keep up with them but do not get up close to them because THEY ARE DANGEROUS in close range combat. Just attack with your long range hat throw and for Liu Kang who has no literal long range attack just use his flying kick and quickly retreat.(Note: Use your throw on them when your in the woods to drive them onto the spiked walls and floors.
Ministry Archers- The Archers are simple they focus on LRA so just use yours.
Ministry Guards- These guards are very strong and there are 2 types the Electric Staff ones and the Mini Sythe ones. They both use CRA so just use LRA.(LRA: Long range attacks.)(CRA: Close range attacks.)
NOTE: This is not from the demo but from the actual game, so I don't know if they are the same. But for perfect results get the real game.
